Client Vision

Our clients approached us with a clear ambition: to transform an underutilized room in their Broadstairs home into a functional, inviting library space. They had accumulated an extensive book collection over the years and wanted a dedicated space that would both house their volumes and create an environment conducive to reading and relaxation.

The project required careful planning to maximize storage capacity while maintaining the room's proportions and character. Design and Planning

Material Selection and Fabrication

For this project, we selected high-quality MDF as the primary material. This choice offered several advantages: excellent stability, a smooth surface ideal for painting, and cost-effectiveness that allowed us to maximize the extent of shelving within the project budget.

All components were precisely cut and pre-assembled in our workshop before delivery to site. This approach ensured perfect joints and minimized on-site disruption while maintaining our exacting quality standards.

Installation Process

The installation phase was completed efficiently over several days. Our team carefully positioned and secured each bookshelf section, ensuring perfect alignment and level throughout. We paid particular attention to load-bearing considerations, using appropriate wall fixings and support brackets to ensure the shelving could safely accommodate the weight of a full library.

As requested, we delivered the installation with a carefully prepared base finish. All MDF surfaces were sanded smooth and filled to create a perfect substrate for painting. This preparation work ensured our clients would achieve professional-quality results when applying their chosen decorative finish.
